Yesterday afternoon we attended sessions at the Children's Palace and participated in pottery, drawing, and calligraphy with the students. It was fun to observe the younger children about ages 9-10 participating in their summer enrichment activities. Many of them are too busy with their studies to have time for these extracurriculars during the school year. In this picture, my friend Kate and I are working to design some sort of clay pot. We could not understand the teacher's instructions in Chinese, so we had to follow along with what the children were doing!
