Terra Cotta Warriors
One of the highlights of our stop in Xi'an was our visit to the Terra Cotta Warriors Museum. For those of you who are unfamiliar, some pieces of pottery were unearthed by peasants in 1974 who were digging for a well. Experts have determined that these artifacts are associated with the Qin Dynasty which dates back to 206 BC. These life size figures are arranged in battle-like formation associated with what an imperial army would look like in those times. The Chinese refer to this discovery as the "Eighth Wonder of the World", and it is truly worth the visit!
